Bhubaneswar, July 1 (IANS) UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee will visit Odisha July 11 to campaign in the state for the presidential election, the Congress said Sunday.
The former finance minister will meet Congress legislators and MPs and seek their support.
The Congress has 27 members in the 147-member assembly. It claims to have the support of two independents. The party has six members in Lok Sabha and one in the Rajya Sabha.
Orissa’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is one of the main supporters of Mukherjee’s rival, former Lok Sabha speaker P.A. Sangma.
