Pranab praises Mamata’s ‘courageous’ handling of fire

Kolkata, Dec 10 (IANS) Union Finance Minister and Congress stalwart Pranab Mukherjee Saturday showered praise on West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for her courageous handling of the AMRI Hospital fire tragedy.
“As you know the tragedy.. nobody can prevent the tragedy like this. But the way the chief minister has handled the tragedy, consoled the people with adept, courage and fortitude, we simply appreciate that,” Mukherjee told media persons here.
The finance minister held a meeting with the chief ministers of eastern zone states and the chiefs of the public sector banks Saturday afternoon. Banerjee was present at the meet.
As many as 91 patients and staffers died in the hospital fire.
