Prabal Pratap to rescue of Madhya Pradesh

Chennai, Aug 11 (IANS)A fighting 86-ball 90 by Prabal Pratap Singh enabled Madhya Pradesh to recover from 78 for eight to 179 all out against Hyderabad on the opening day of the Buchi Babu All-India Cricket Tournament, here Thursday.

Singh was involved in an 89-run partnership with Eshwar Pande (30) as the pair rescued Madhya Pradesh from a total collapse. Left-arm spinner Lalit Mohan (4-56) and seamer Anwar Ahmed Khan (3-45) were the main Hyderabad wicket-takers.

Orissa 197 all out in 80.1 overs (Sudip biswal 88, Haldar Das 38, Abhinav Bali 5 for 47) vs Himachal Pradesh 26 for no loss in 7 overs.

Gujarat 161 for 2 in 51 overs (Avi Barot 80 batting, Priyank Panchal 67) vs Assam.

Maharashtra 308 all out in 85.3 overs (Nikhil 64, Rohit 64, Deepak Shilamkar 52 not out, D Kalayankrishna 4 for 50, Vijayakumar 3 for 57) vs Andhra 11 for 1 in 2 overs.

Madhya Pradesh 179 all out in 42.2 overs (Prabal Pratap Singh 90, Eshwar Pande 30, Lalith Mohan 4 for 56, Anwar Ahmed Khan 3 for 45) vs Hyderabad 101 for 3 in 32 overs.
