Polish defence minister calls on Antony

New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) Polish Defence Minister Bogdan Klich called on his Indian counterpart A.K. Antony here Tuesday to discuss strengthening of bilateral relations.“Klich discussed issues of mutual cooperation in various fields including the defence industry and specialized training for armed forces. India is a big arms market for Poland, a former Soviet Bloc ally with which we have shared long standing friendship,” a defence spokesman said.

Klich reached here late Monday on a three-day visit.

His visit follows the fourth meeting of the two countries’ Joint Working Group held here last month. During the meeting the two sides had agreed to consolidate cooperation in the defence industry and specialized training of their armed forces.

Klich will also hold talks with officials of top defence public sector undertakings including Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and Ordnance Factories Board (OFB).

He will Wednesday visit a Para Brigade of the Indian Army at Agra before leaving for Vietnam early Thursday.
