Policemen thrash grocer for demanding money

Ghaziabad, Sep 3 (IANS) A grocery shop owner in the Vijay Nagar market here was thrashed by policemen for failing to provide them free groceries, the victim said Wednesday. Chatrapal, 40, a general merchant, alleged that he was beaten up Tuesday night when he asked for money from the policemen for the goods taken from his shop.

According to him, four policemen - Sanjay Kardam, Joginder Sharma, Munnalal and Rajendra Yadav - came to his shop after consuming alcohol.

They took several edible items from his shop. When the owner asked for money, the policemen thrashed the shopkeeper. A crowd in turn beat up one of the policemen.
