Policemen cooked food for Jigisha’s parents
March 25th, 2009 - 9:50 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 25 (IANS) Showing a human side to policing, men of the Delhi Police cooked food and extended all possible help to the grieving parents of murdered IT executive Jigisha Ghosh.
“Her parents were in a state of shock for at least four days. Since they have no close relatives here, our personnel were looking after them. One woman sub-inspector was with them all the time,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal.
“They were not only consoled, but our people cooked for them and extended moral and emotional their support to them. We took them to Faridabad and other places. Our men helped in cremation of Jigisha.”
“I was personally in touch with his father and briefing him about the development in the case,” he said.
Jigisha, a resident of Vasant Vihar in south Delhi, had left her home for office in Noida Tuesday but did not return home, though her office cab had dropped her outside her apartment block where she lived. Her body was discovered by Faridabad police three kilometer from Surajkund, about 20 km from her residence, Friday night.
The police nabbed her killers and said the same men were also behind the murder of television journalist Soumya Vishwanathan Sep 30.
Jigisha’s father Jagannath Gosh also had words of praise for Delhi Police. He said he was satisfied that murderers were arrested. He also expressed his thanks to Dhaliwal and his team.
