Policeman killed in landmine blast in Jharkhand (Lead)
December 14th, 2009 - 3:21 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ranchi, Dec 14 (IANS) A policeman was killed and another injured when Maoist rebels detonated a landmine blast in Jharkhand’s Lohardagga district Monday, police said.
“Maoist rebels detonated a landmine blast between Banjri and Rosad village which comes under Kisko police station of Lohardagga district,” officials said.
“They were travelling on a bike and fell into the landmine trap which caused the death of the policeman and injuries to the other,” police spokesperson V.H. Deshmukh told IANS.
The injured policeman has been admitted to a local hospital. His condition is said to be serious.
Lohardagga is about 70 km from Ranchi.
