Policeman killed in Jharkhand road accident

- Ranchi, Nov 30 (IANS) A police official was killed and three people were injured in a road accident in Jharkhand’s Palamau district Sunday, the police said. Manoj Mahto, officer in charge of the Husssianbad police station, was travelling to the Palamau district headquarters in a jeep when the vehicle veered off the road as the driver tried to avoid a collision with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
Mahto died on the spot while two constables travelling with him and the driver sustained injuries, a police official said.
The accident took place near Nava village in Palamau district, which is nearly 200 km from Ranchi.
