Policeman booked for rape in UP
July 23rd, 2012 - 4:34 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, July 23 (IANS) Two people, including a police officer, were booked Monday in Uttar Pradesh after a woman accused them of raping her, police said.
The 35-year-old woman had filed a complaint against sub-inspector Virendra and watchman Vijay Verma in Kushinagar, 320 km from here.
She said the two raped her July 17 after drugging her. They had promised to get her a job, Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Garg told IANS.
Police said a case of illegal detention and rape had been registered against the men. The woman has been sent for a medical examination.
