Police to interrogate Maoist arms supplier
November 26th, 2009 - 8:23 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Nov 26 (IANS) A Orissa police team arrived in this Bihar capital to interrogate an alleged arms supplier of the outlawed Maoists, police said Thursday.
Subodh Singh alias Subhas Singh was arrested in Patna 10 days ago after police seized huge consignments of explosive materials and firearms this month.
About 5,000 kg of explosive material was seized from Gaya district Thursday, while around 300 kg were seized Saturday and 600 kg Sunday from Patna.
Orissa police strongly suspect that Singh allegedly supplied explosives to the Maoists who attacked a police station in Orissa in April 2008 killing eight policemen.
“Orissa police is likely to interrogate Singh here Thursday,” a police official told IANS.
Additional Director General (headquarters) U.S. Dutt said the police were probing the recovery of the explosives and arms.
