Police take Agra woman back to husband in Kerala
November 1st, 2010 - 1:35 pm ICT by IANSAgra, Nov 1 (IANS) Acting on court orders, police are escorting a married woman back to her husband’s home in Kerala as she was allegedly being illegally confined by her parents in Agra.
Kerala Police took her into custody Sunday evening on the order of the state high court.
Her husband, Vipin had filed a case against his in-laws in Agra for allegedly not allowing his wife to leave after she came to her parental home on a holiday following her court marriage in Kerala.
However, the woman’s parents told police that Vipin, who was a tenant in their house in Patel Nagar here a year ago, had “brainwashed” their daughter and eloped with her to Kerala where his mother had confined her against her wish.
Police said the woman would be presented before a Kerala court where her statement would be recorded.
