Police need to upgrade intelligence capacity: PM

Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday said police forces needed to upgrade their systems and intelligence capacities, especially in states where policing was ineffective. He said that there needs to be a greater emphasis on shoring up “actionable intelligence” especially when the country was facing huge challenges in fighting terror.

The prime minister was addressing a two-day conference of director generals of police (DGP) and inspector generals of police (IGP) at Vigyan Bhavan here.
