Police lock up cop’s family

Ghaziabad, Feb 15 (IANS) The police put a padlock on the residence here of another police official even though his family was inside the house in an effort to make them leave the premises. The incident Thursday night took place in the police quarters of Muradnagar police station.

The police team locked up the house belonging to sub-inspector Rajvir Tomar around 10.30 p.m.

Tomar was transferred to Dankaur police station in Noida six months back.The station officer of the Murad Nagar police station, Parashuram, wanted to get the house vacated since Tomar had been transferred.

The police team allegedly ignored the pleas of Tomar’s wife Krishna Kanta, and son Vaibhav. The house was unlocked after two hours.

Parashuram said: “Police were ordered to get the house vacated at any cost. I later came to know that the police team had locked up the house with the family inside. I then asked the policemen to open the lock.”

Tomar’s wife and son said they would move court on this matter. “My father was transferred in mid-session (of school) so how could we vacate the house?” Vaibhav queried.

Tomar has written to the deputy inspector general Meerut Range claiming entitlement to the quarter. He alleged that the incident was malafide and no notice was issued to him in this regard.
