The police apprehended him late Wednesday night from the New Delhi Railway Station and also managed to save and recover the two missing children who were also working as child labourers,” a statement by the BBA said.

“The children rescued were taken to the rehabilitation centre run by BBA on the outskirts of Delhi. Both of them looked traumatized,” it added.

According to the statement, one of the rescued children is just eight years old and also speech- and hearing-impaired. The other child is Moin’s brother. Both were kidnapped by Kalimullah and kept in confinement for the last five days.

Meanwhile, the Central Delhi Task Force on Child Labour Thursday rescued 34 child labourers from Nabi Karim area of central Delhi. BBA activists also accompanied the police officials and labour department in the rescue operation.

One of the rescued children, Hanif, all of eights years said: “I am from Bihar. I don’t have parents. Both of them passed away. I used to live with my elder sister in my aunt’s place. One day my maternal uncle brought me to Delhi saying that I would enjoy a quality life here. He also promised me that I will go to school here”.

“But instead, I was employed in a factory. I had to work from eight in the morning till late midnight. I used to feel very tired and hungry. But I am very happy to be released today and want to meet my sister as soon as possible,” he added.
