New Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday congratulated the Chinese government and people on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic and said that “strategic and cooperative partnership” between India and China had developed over the years.
In a message to Premier Wen Jiabao, the prime minister said: “This is an important milestone in the life of China and an occasion for celebrations of your great nation’s many achievements in the last 60 years.
“As a friendly neighbour and a developing nation, we in India share your sense of happiness on this important occasion.
“Our strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity has developed over the last four years. Our shared vision for the 21st century is also reflected in our wide-ranging cooperation and coordination on pressing global and international issues,” Manmohan Singh said.
“India is fully committed to further promoting our relations in an all-round manner.”
Advanced weaponry and precision marching soldiers will roll through Beijing’s Tiananmen Square in a parade to mark the 60th anniversary of the Communist revolution.
The parade is expected to be a display of China’s growing political and military strength.
