PM congratulates assembly polls winners

New Delhi, March 6 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manohar Parrikar and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav on their victories in the assembly elections.
Manmohan Singh conveyed his congratulatory messages to these leaders in telephonic conversations after the results for the five state assemblies were clear that they had won, according to Prime Minister Office’s twitter account.
Badal’s Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, BJP under Parrikar’s leadership in Goa, and Mulayam Singh’s Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh have won majority in the assembly elections for which results were announced Tuesday.
