New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) An all-party meeting has been convened July 3 by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the Lokpal Bill, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj said Friday.
Sushma Swaraj, leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, said this on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The meeting follows a stalemate between the government and civil society over the draft of the Lokpal bill, which seeks to fight corruption in high places.
A key disagreement relates to bringing the prime minister under the purview of a Lokpal.
A letter circulated to political parties and state governments by the government seeking their views did not garner much response.
