New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) The weather continued to remain pleasant in the capital Sunday with sunny skies and below average temperatures. The met office has forecast the mercury will rise gradually in the week ahead.

The day’s maximum temperature was recorded at 27.6 degrees, a notch below average and the minimum settled at 9.6 degrees Celsius, four notches below average, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Like Sunday, the last couple of days in the capital have been similarly pleasant with below average temperatures and a cool breeze blowing through the day.

Saturday’s maximum temperature settled two notches below average at 26.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum was four notches below average at 9.7 degrees.

However, the IMD said that Delhi residents would probably start feeling the heat in the coming week.

“The temperature will rise gradually from tomorrow (Monday) and the maximum is expected to hover around 30 degrees while the minimum will be settling around 12 degrees Celsius,” said the official.

Sunday’s maximum and minimum humidity were recorded at 85 and 21 percent.
