Pleasant weather continues in Delhi, no rain (Lead)
May 23rd, 2011 - 10:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 23 (IANS) The good weather over the weekend in Delhi continued Monday with the temperatures well below the average but the sun making its reappearance. The mercury is expected to rise Tuesday, weather officials said.
The maximum temperature dipped to 37.1 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average, while the minimum settled at 21.9 degrees, four notches below the average, said a senior official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Humidity was at 93 percent.
Mainly clear skies with partly cloudy skies towards evening is predicted for Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to hover around 40 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
Delhi has been receiving rainfall for the past two days due to a western disturbance arising over the Jammu and Kashmir region. The rains brought much respite to the city residents from the scorching heat of the past days.
