Plane’s tyres burst in Chandigarh, trigger panic
December 14th, 2010 - 11:41 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Dec 14 (IANS) Two tyres of a Jet Airways plane burst with the loud noise after the passengers had disembarked at the airport here Tuesday evening, triggering panic, officials said.”The plane had made a safe landing and all passengers had come out. After that two of its tyres deflated while it was on the way to the parking bay. This happened due to over-heating…Technicians are looking after the plane,” airport director H.S. Toor told IANS.
The Jet Airways flight earlier arrived here from Delhi.
People at the airport panicked on hearing the loud burst of the tyres and some even thought it was a bomb blast.
“I heard a loud noise and thought that there was a bomb blast. I was very frightened,” said Nishant Singhal, who was at the airport at the time of the incident.
