Plane hits Ferris wheel in Australia
October 1st, 2011 - 6:02 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 1 (IANS) A small aircraft crashed into a Ferris wheel in Australia, it was reported here.
Four people, including two children, on board the aircraft were trapped in the wreckage, but there were no serious injuries, Daily Telegraph reported.
The Cheetah S200 did not topple the Ferris wheel when it collided with it near the top at a three-day festival at Old Bar, a coastal village 350 km north of Sydney, Ben Shepherd, an official, was quoted as saying.
Police said two children - a nine-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl - were trapped in a carriage at the top of the wheel near the wrecked plane for 90 minutes.
A crane was used to rescue them.
Shepherd said: “Thankfully, everyone was taken down and were able to walk away from it.”
