London, Jan 9 (IANS) Kevin Pietersen’s resignation as the England cricket captain has shocked his teammates.Batsman Ian Bell said that the tension between Pietersen and coach Peter Moores had never been apparent in the dressing room.

“We are pretty shocked. We never really knew things were so bad. With captains and coaches, people are going to have their own ideas; there are always going to be conversations where people want their way and others want something slightly different,” Bell, who was speaking on behalf of his teammates, was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.

“I was very shocked to see how fast it developed.”

Bell did not expect the captain to resign and the coach to be sacked.

“I am very amazed that both have gone. It is really important now as a team that we get back together and back on track,” he said.
