Phoolan Devi killing accused wants to campaign in UP
February 14th, 2012 - 11:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 14 (IANS) Sher Singh Rana, prime accused in the murder of bandit-turned-politician Phoolan Devi in 2001, Tuesday requested a Delhi court to allow custody parole for his election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
Rana moved his custody parole application before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav seeking permission to campaign in Jewar constituency in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
Rana is a candidate of Rashtravadi Pratap Sena. He filed his nomination papers from Tihar Jail.
Rana had allegedly shot dead Phoolan Devi July 25, 2001.
