Pawar escapes unhurt as ceiling fan falls
December 3rd, 2011 - 9:01 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Dec 3 (IANS) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar Saturday escaped unhurt when a ceiling fan fell near him as he was addressing an official function in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur town.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, a police officer said.
Pawar was addressing a programme of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Jabalpur, over 350 km from Bhopal, when the incident occurred.
“When he (Pawar) was giving his speech, a fan fell down near him. No one got hurt and the programme got interrupted for some time only,” Jabalpur’s Superintendent of Police S.K. Singh told IANS.
“An inquiry by a senior police official has been ordered into the incident,” he added.
