Patil visits Jharkhand’s Maoist affected districts

Ranchi, June 11 (IANS) Central Home Minister Shivraj Patil arrived here Wednesday morning to visit two Maoist affected districts of the state. He went to Maoist affected districts of Chatra and Palamau with Chief Minister Madhu Koda and government officials. He will review the development works going on in both districts and the operations launched against the guerrillas.

Chatra and Palamau have been selected for a pilot project of the central government, an official said, without elaborating further about the project.

Officials said the state government will ask the home minister for additional paramilitary forces to carry anti-Maoist operations.
