Patil to open Tamil conference

Coimbatore, June 22 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil will inaugurate the first World Classical Tamil Conference in Coimbatore Wednesday.
She will open the conference at Codisia complex and present the Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi Classical Tamil Award to Finnish Tamil scholar Asko Parpola.
While Patil will deliver the inaugural address, Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala will render the special address. Chief Minister Karunanidhi will give the presidential address.
In the evening, Patil will witness a colourful pageantry of floats depicting Tamil language, culture and history.
