Passenger steals $238,000 from airliner’s cargo hold
March 6th, 2011 - 10:34 pm ICT by IANSLondon, March 6 (IANS) A passenger sneaked into the cargo hold of an airplane from the bathroom and stole $238,000 during a flight in the Caribbean, a media report said.
The unnamed man complained of feeling unwell and spent most of his time in the bathroom. He removed the panels separating the toilet and the cargo hold.
A Brink’s security employee had placed three sacks of cash containing $1.6 million in the hold, Daily Mail reported Saturday quoting Fox News.
The theft was discovered after the plane landed. The alleged thief asked a flight attendant for an ambulance, but when it arrived he said he felt suddenly better and managed to walk out of the airport.
