Part-time bank employees held for motorbike thefts

New Delhi, March 2 (IANS) Two young men who worked part-time for foreign banks as loan facilitators have been arrested here for stealing four motorcycles on a single day to finance their lavish lifestyle, the police said Monday.
Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested Sumit, 23, and Puneet Verma, 22, Sunday evening while they were moving on a stolen motorbike in the city’s Rohini Sector 3 area.

According to the police, the accused lived in Rohini in northwest Delhi. They stole motorbikes close to their houses. The police have recovered three other stolen motorbikes from the parking lot of a hospital in the same area.

Sumit is a school dropout while Puneet is studying B.Com, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Satyendra Garg. Both young men were employed by a multinational bank.

“They had stolen all four motorcycles on Feb 28 and were planning to sell them to finance their lavish lifestyles,” Garg added.
