Mohali (Punjab), Dec 23 (IANS) England spinner Monty Panesar’s grandfather was delighted to see the left-arm spinner in action during the second cricket Test against India at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Tuesday.Hari Singh, maternal grandfather of Mudhsuden Singh Panesar aka Monty Panesar, came all the way from Ludhiana, around 100 km from here, to see his grandson in action. Panesar’s cousin Inderpreet Singh accompanied his grandfather.

“I am happy to see my grandson performing in front of my eyes. It is great that he took the wicket of India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I have seen him bowling several times on television but the joy of seeing him live before me is unexplainable,” Hari told IANS.

“Monty has come to India after more than two years and we are looking forward to meet him here. He is a fighter and we are proud that he has become an essential part of England squad over the last few years,” said Inderpreet.

Meanwhile, the PCA’s offer of allowing the entry of two spectators for a single ticket failed to attract the spectators on the last day of the Test, which ended in a tame draw.
