Pakistan violates ceasefire on LoC
August 19th, 2010 - 8:39 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Jammu, Aug 19 (IANS) Pakistani army opened fire on Indian posts in Krishnaghati sector in Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir early Thursday, army sources said.
Pakistani troops fired mortars and rockets directed toward the Indian posts around 12.30 a.m. and the firing continued for more than an hour, the sources said.
The Indian side also retaliated.
Pakistani Army had been violating the cease fire, which had come into effect in November 2003, to facilitate infiltration.
Army sources said that Pakistani army also wanted to cause tensions on the Line of Control.
