Pakistan urged to find out two missing Chinese engineers

Beijing, Sep 2 (Xinhua) China Tuesday urged Pakistan to do everything possible to find out two missing Chinese engineers in that country. The engineers, who are employees of the China-based Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Company (ZTE), have been missing from Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province since Friday.

A local driver and a security guard, who accompanied the engineers to check a faulty equipment in lower Dir district, were also missing.

“We have demanded Pakistan to do everything possible to rescue the two missing (Chinese) engineers and ensure their safety,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu told reporters here.

Jiang said the government has attached great importance to the incident and relevant departments have been informed to investigate the case.

No further details were immediately available.
