Pakistan hikes salaries of civilian employees

Islamabad, July 5 (IANS) Pakistan has given a 15 to 20 percent increase in salaries and pensions to all its civilian employees with effect from July 1.

Dawn said the monetary impact of the increase won’t be much since the employees were already getting different allowances like ad hoc, dearness, relief or special allowances.

Besides the hike in salaries, the employees will also get an increase in allowances, including more than 300 percent hike in ‘miscellaneous’ allowances.
