Over 200 public sector companies default payment to CISF
April 27th, 2010 - 8:25 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 27 (IANS) A total of 232 public sector establishments had defaulted in dues to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), amounting to Rs. 322.65 crore, for the security shield provided to them, parliament was informed Tuesday.The Taj Mahal and major airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai were among the defaulters. The CISF was raised on no profit, no losses basis and it charges the public sector undertakings (PSU) and other organisations for it services.
Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken said in a written reply that steps were being taken to recover the outstanding amounts.
“The monthly position of outstanding dues against each PSU is worked out and intimated to each unit commander to enable him to liaise with the respective management for expeditious clearance of dues,” he said.
“Senior CISF officers, while on inspection to units, always discuss the status of outstanding dues with the management. The matter is taken up regularly with administrative ministries of the PSUs concerned for early clearance of outstanding amount,” he added.
