Over 14 kg hashish seized in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Feb 15 (IANS) As much as 14.5 kg of hashish, worth nearly Rs.1.47 million in international market, was recovered Sunday from an abandoned car in a Gujarat village, close to the Rajasthan border, the police said.

“We found a car lying abandoned on the roadside near Degamda village in Sabarkantha district, close to the Rajasthan border. We reached the spot after being informed by some villagers that a foul smell was coming from the backseat of the car,” said sub-inspector V.S. Brahmabhatt of Shamlaji police station in Sabarkantha district.

The car alongwith the 14.50 kg of hashish worth nearly Rs.1.47 million was seized, the police said.

“A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,” Bhrahmabhatt said.
