Washington, May 2 (IANS) The body of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been buried at sea after he was killed by US forces in Pakistan, a media report said.
Xinhua cited CNN as reporting that Osama bin Laden was buried at sea after being killed in Pakistan’s Abbotabad city, about 50 km from Islamabad.
US President Barack Obama announced that Osama bin Laden, the world’s most wanted terrorist, was killed in Pakistan, ending a 10-year manhunt that intensified with the traumatic Sep 11, 2001 terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon.
President Obama described how American military and CIA operatives finally cornered the Al Qaeda leader in Abbottabad, just 50 km northeast of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
