Orissa task force to improve higher education

- Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (IANS) Orissa Wednesday constituted a task force consisting eminent academicians to prepare a prospective plan document for higher education, officials said.
The task force will be led by Trilochan Pradhan, a former director of the Institute of Physics and former vice-chancellor of the state’s Utkal University, according a government notification.
It will study the present scenario of higher education in the state and suggest ways and means to improve the situation and bring it at par with international standards, the notification said.
The task force has 16 members, including several academicians from India and abroad.
It will elicit opinion from intelligentsia and stake-holders by organizing several consultative workshops across the state before submitting its report in December this year, the notification said.
