Orissa Maoist leader arrested with arms
March 5th, 2011 - 9:21 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, March 5 (IANS) An Orissa state committee member of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist was arrested Saturday from Bargarh district, police said.
Satrughan Biswal alias Mangu alias Mohan was arrested in Bargarh, some 380 km from here, district superintendent of police Soorya Thankappan told IANS.
He was second in command in the state unit and was operating in three districts of Bargarh, Nuapada and Bolangir, she said.
One country-made pistol, six rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, cash amounting to Rs.54,550 and various Maoist-related documents were seized from him, she said.
