Only Left parties admit, rectify mistakes: Bardhan

Kolkata, April 24 (IANS) Holding that all political parties commit mistakes, Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary A.B. Bardhan said Sunday only the Left parties had the courage to admit and rectify their follies.
“Yes, mistakes have been committed by the Left Front and we have regretted them. We are trying to correct our follies,” said Bardhan.
“Which political party can claim that it had not committed any mistake and can any political party guarantee that it will not commit any mistake in the years to come,” asked the CPI leader.
According to him, only the Left parties have the courage to admit their mistakes and to rectify them.
Reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s comment Saturday that West Bengal lagged behind other states in development, education, industry and minority welfare, Bardhan said: “I feel sorry for Manmohan Singh.”
“The United Progressive Alliance government at the centre is responsible for the biggest corruption in recent times. Manmohan Singh being the prime minister and the Trinamool being the second largest partner of the government, are they not responsible for the corruption and scams,” Bardhan asked.
