Online engineering entrance exam from next year
September 13th, 2011 - 10:52 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) An online entrance exam for engineering aspirants will be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 22 cities next year, an official statement said Tuesday.
After the success of pilot project for online exam of the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE), the online exam will be held in 22 cities May 7-25, 2012. The regular pen and paper exams will be held at the remaining centres, the human resource development ministry statement said.
A concession of Rs.150 to Rs.300 in examination fees will also be given to the students who chose online examination. A mock test software will also be uploaded on CBSE website in December for the purpose of practice by the examinees.
The cities where the online tests will be held are Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Noida, Vijaywada, Bhopal, Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Mumbai, Allahabad, Chandigarh/ Mohali/ Pachkula, Jalandhar, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi/NCR except Faridabad, Jaipur, Kota, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Dehradun, Eranakulam and Lucknow.
