One victim in BMW hit and run case dead

New Delhi, Sep 13(IANS) Anuj Aditya Singh, 25, who was critically injured after a speeding BMW car hit the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion, died here Saturday.”Anuj died this morning. We will follow the case,” the victim’s uncle Tejas Chauhan told IANS. The body of the victim has been taken to his house in Ghaziabad.

Singh, whose cervical spine and brain stem were badly damaged in Thursday’s accident, was placed on a life support system Friday morning.

The driver of the BMW, 18-year-old Utsav Bhasin, son of a Delhi-based industrialist, was arrested Friday from the Inter State Bus Terminus at Kashmiri Gate while trying to go to Chandigarh. However, he was later given bail.

Singh’s family is now demanding that the accused be arrested again under different charges and be punished.

Singh was returning home with his friend Mrigank Srivastav after seeing a movie when the BMW driven by Bhasin rammed into their Pulsar motorbike near Moolchand flyover early Thursday.

A police control room (PCR) van rushed them to the Trauma Centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Srivastav, who was riding the bike, landed on his head, fractured his right leg and was badly bruised all over.
