One more ‘fake’ pilot arrested in Delhi
May 26th, 2011 - 12:07 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 25 (IANS) Another pilot was arrested for using forged marksheets to procure Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) here, police said Wednesday.
“Sourabh Prakash Lokhande, 29, a trainee pilot in Air India, was arrested from the capital Wednesday,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand.
Lokhande told police that he appeared thrice for the pilot licence examinations but did not get through.
“Lokhande came in contact with Eknath Patil, a middleman who is already arrested. He promised him that the pass certificate could be arranged for Rs.3.1 lakh,” Chand said.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation had forwarded his name to the crime branch of Delhi Police, which claimed that he submitted forged marksheets for obtaining the commercial pilot’s licence.
Sor far, police have arrested 19 people from Delhi. Rajasthan Police also arrested two fake pilots earlier from Jaipur.
