One killed in cylinder blast
July 20th, 2011 - 12:24 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 19 (IANS) A 32-year-old man was killed and three people were injured when an oxygen cylinder exploded at a medical gas unit here Tuesday, police said.
According to fire brigade officers, the accident occurred at the medical gas plant in Moti Nagar area of west Delhi.
“There was a minor fire after the blast. Fire tenders reached the spot soon after and doused the flames,” an officer said.
Dinesh Shukla, Nathi Lal Shukla, Raja Shulka and Amarnath, who were working at the unit, were injured in the blast.
“They were rushed to hospital, where doctors declared Dinesh Shukla dead. The three others are recuperating,” a police officer said.
The cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
