One killed in boiler blast

New Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS) A 30-year-old man was killed and two people were injured when a boiler burst in an apparel factory being run illegally in south Delhi Sunday, police said.

The blast shook the entire building in the Masjid Moth area killing Mohammad Alam and injuring Pankaj, 22 and Azhar, 30. All the window panes were broken and the fire broke out on the floor, police said.

“We received a call of fire from Masjid Moth at around 2.35 p.m.,” said a fire brigade official adding that two fire tender vehicles rushed to the spot but when they arrived, they found that the minor blaze had already been doused.

Both the injured were rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where they are undergoing treatment.

The body of Alam, who worked as a labourer, was sent to for post-mortem.

“We have registered a case against the owner (Mohin), who is illegal running the factory in the area. He is absconding,” said a senior police officer.
