September 1st, 2011 - 11:38 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) A 25-year-old driver was arrested from north Delhi for shooting at a youth in a road rage incident after the victim did not give him way to overtake, police said Thursday.
Sunil, having previous criminal record, was arrested from Rohini Wednesday for firing at Pradeep, 24, who is now recovering in hospital, said Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Jaiswal.
The police officer said they were yet to arrest Vijender, who was in Sunil’s car at the time of the incident Wednesday morning.
Pradeep, a graduate, was riding a bike and Sunil and Vijender were in the car and tried to overtake him.
As Pradeep failed to give them way on the road, they hit him from behind and overtook him. “After a verbal altercation, Sunil fired at Pradeep with a home-made pistol and fled,” Jaiswal said.
Pradeep noted down the registration number of the car and informed police.
Sunil was involved in kidnapping-cum-murder case, police said.
