One dead in DTC bus accident (Lead)
July 15th, 2011 - 8:34 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 15 (IANS) A 19-year-old youth was killed when he was hit by a speeding Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus while crossing a road in north Delhi, said police Friday.
The deceased - identified as Maqsood - was found in a pool of blood in north Delhi’s Mongolpuri area Friday morning.
“The incident was reported in the morning when a speeding DTC bus hit Maqsood who was crossing the road in Mongolpuri industrial areas. The bus was coming from the left side of the deceased,” said a police official.
“He was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. We have arrested the bus driver,” added the officer.
Maqsood hails from Bihar and was living in Mongolpuri.
