One arrested with 5 kg heroin
July 15th, 2010 - 6:49 pm ICT by IANSLudhiana, July 15 (IANS) The Punjab Police Thursday arrested a person and recovered 5 kg of heroin from his possession.
Ludhiana’s Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh told reporters here that the drugs consignment was recovered from a car being driven by the accused near Dullo Khurd village near here.
The heroin seized is worth Rs.50 million (Rs.5 crore) in the international market, police officials said.
Punjab is a major transit and destination point for drugs smuggling from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
