Olympic football: Brazil’s coach may bring changes to team
July 31st, 2012 - 8:49 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 31 (IANS) Brazil’s Olympic football coach Mano Menezes has revealed he is likely to make changes to the team that will face New Zealand in Newcastle Wednesday.
Having picked up a yellow card in the opening match against Egypt, Porto winger Hulk is almost certain to be among those rested to avoid a possible suspension in the quarterfinals, reports Xinhua.
Vying to take his place are Manchester United target Lucas Moura and Santos star Paulo Henrique Ganso, both of whom have been used sparingly in the Olympic tournament so far.
“It’s still not clear who will start the match. I will wait to see who is fine to play and who needs a rest,” Menezes said.
Brazil leads Group C with two wins from its opening two matches and is already guaranteed a berth in the quarterfinals. New Zealand must win to have any chance of progressing to the knockout phase.
