Official’s car runs over three people
November 21st, 2011 - 10:57 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 21 (IANS) Three people, including two minors, were crushed to death Monday by a car driven by a government official in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, neighbouring Lucknow, police said. He has been arrested.
Prakash Chaurasia, a district programme officer, crushed the two school girls — Manorama, 13, and Swati, 11, and government employee Ganesh Babu, 54, in Sandila area while returning from the state capital.
“The government official was coming from Lucknow in his private car when the accident took place,” Police Inspector Rajesh Singh told reporters in Hardoi, some 100 km from Lucknow.
“With the help of the locals, we later managed to nab the government official,” he added.
