Odisha minister injured in attack, one held
January 31st, 2012 - 12:31 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 30 (IANS) Odisha’s Panchayati Raj Minister Maheswar Mohanty was injured when a man allegedly attacked him Monday evening with an iron rod on his head in a village in Puri district, police said. The man was detained by police.
The incident occurred near Pratap Purusottampur village under Chandanpur police station area when the minister was holding a meeting with his party workers.
“Police have detained the man. Further investigation is on,” deputy inspector general of police D.S Kuttey told IANS.
