Nuclear scientist P.K. Iyengar dead
December 21st, 2011 - 9:52 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Dec 21 (IANS) Eminent nuclear scientist P.K. Iyengar, former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), passed away after a brief illness here Wednesday, an official source said.
He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.
Iyengar was renowned as a nuclear physicist with keen interest in developing indigenous experimental facilities.
He was a vocal proponent of the recent India-US nuclear agreement.
